What are we learning?

 

When I use this kids research guide, I am learning to:

1. Round up, compare and sort information from a wide range of sources.

I’ll know I’ve got this if:

  • I can round up information from a wide range of sources.
  • I can compare information from a wide range of sources.
  • I can sort information from a wide range of sources.

 

2. Use historical terms to read, talk and write about History.

I’ll know I’ve got this if:

  • I can use historical words when I talk about the past.
  • I can understand historical words when I read about the past.
  • I can use historical words when I write about the past.

For teachers:

Organise and process information.
Inquiring - Level 3. Typically by the end of Year 4, students collect, compare and categorise facts and opinions found in a widening range of sources (Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority, n.d. a).
Word Knowledge.
Understand learning area vocabulary. Typically by the end of Year 4, students use growing subject-specific vocabulary to read, discuss and write about learning area topics (Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority, n.d. b).
